    Concerning champions of London pdf, for the season 1935-36, Brentford was one position above Arsenal.
    Thus, they were Champions of London!!!

  4. Em, what do you mean by ground hopper???
    I was in London for a week and i went to see some grounds, i didn’t get inside, these were no matchdays. I wanted actually to see the surrounding neighbourhoods, Loftus Road (QPR) at Shepherd’s Bush, Boleyn ground (West Ham), Brentford, Fisher Athletic (unfortunately this one had gone bankrupt and the playing field has been full of weeds!!!).

Largely a football-related pastime, groundhopping probably found its origin in football in the 1970s in England. From the late 1980s fans in Germany started groundhopping as well. Currently it is especially popular in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

    There is no universal set of rules for counting ‘hopped grounds’, although a generally accepted one is that a match must have been seen at the ground.

    There are some formal organisations for groundhoppers, including The 92 Club in England, which consists of groundhoppers who have visited matches in all stadiums of the Premier and Football League.

  6. Hahahaha, i didn’t know there was such a thing.
    Well, as you can see i am no groundhopper but when i find myself outside a stadium, there are various sentiments when you think how many generations of simple persons have visited, laughed or cried there. I have visited some cities of Europe and when there, i’m always trying to go see the stadium of the local team (s).

    • Well since I’m not much of a traveller I have only been to stadia in and around Munich (Olympiastadion, Allianz Arena, Sportpark Unterhaching and Grünwalder Stadion).

      Different subject: you might be interested in the season reviews which I uploaded from “Playfair Football Annual” for seasons 1955-56 & 1961-62 to 1968-69.

    • 1969-70 is now oploaded. 1970-71 is very difficult because the Rothmans issue that I have is close to falling apart and I cannot copy it. I face the same problem with most Rothmans from the 1980s.
